Robert de Warren vividly communicates the great innovations occurring in ballet in the 21st century. Explore the influences that are transforming the classical technique and enriching the artistic expressive needs of modern choreography which incorporates the most contemporary dance languages and even hip hop. We offer lectures and ballet classes for adults and seniors at area housing and condominium associations and clubs, and assisted living residences and retirement communities.
Participatory associations include, for example, Plymouth Harbor, The Isles in Palmer Ranch, and Westminster Towers.

Caroll Michels, a career coach and artist-advocate, has helped thousands of artists with career strategies and development. She is the author of the classic handbook, "How to Survive & Prosper as an Artist: Selling Yourself without Selling Your Soul," which is now going into its 7th edition. Her artwork has been exhibited in museums in the United States and abroad, including the Georges Pompidou Museum in Paris; Haus am Waldsee, Internationale Kunst in Berlin, Germany, and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. In New York, she was on the faculty of the New School University and served as chairperson of the Fine Arts Advisory Board of the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Arts advocate and arts educator for more than 40 years, Georgette D’Amelio has taught thousands of Manatee County students in elementary, middle and senior high schools. Also trained as an Art Therapist, D’Amelio has presented numerous workshops on the use of the healing arts for children with autism, attention deficit disorder and emotional disabilities. She has authored several articles that were featured in the magazine "Arts Education" and also presented at national symposiums. Retired from teaching, D’Amelio, who has always been a fine artist, now has the time to pursue her love of art making.
Dr. Sherry Lawrence serves on the Advisory Board of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee Center for PAinT (Partnerships for Arts Integrated Teaching). Dr. Lawrence has worked with thousands of students and professionals in the areas of fine and performing arts and gifted education. She is a member of the Arts Education Task Force for the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County, and the U.S. National Committee for United Nations Women. She holds a doctorate in behavioral science.
ABOUT SIDAF
The Sarasota Dance Festival, Inc.(SIDAF) was founded in 2010 by artistic director and choreographer Robert de Warren. SIDAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes an appreciation and better understanding of the art form of dance through education, performances, and exhibitions. SIDAF has presented an annual summer pre-professional intensive with prominent guest artists showcased in the Carreño Dance Festival and the Festival of Stars. Although there have been ample provisions for classical ballet in our area, a dearth existed in 21st century international contemporary ballet and modern dance. As a stepping stone in bringing these forms of dance to the Gulf Coast, SIDAF presented "LIFTED: An Evening of Contemporary Dance," at the Sarasota Opera House. The project was in partnership with Drew Jacoby, a principal dancer with the celebrated Netherlands Dance Theater.
SIDAF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Your donation will help widen the circle of SIDAF program recipients in schools, colleges, universities, educational organizations, and under-served communities.
